I would love to see an AI-powered feature in Dungeon Alchemist that allows users to type a description of their desired map, and the software generates it automatically based on the text input.
This feature would:
Use natural language processing (NLP) to interpret user input.
Automatically create terrain, buildings, objects, and lighting based on the provided description.
Allow customization by giving users the option to refine the AI-generated map after creation.
Here are some examples of how this feature might work:
Input: "A small coastal fishing village with a dock, five huts, and a lighthouse." Output: A map with a coastline, a dock, five wooden huts, and a lighthouse at the edge.
Input: "A dark forest with a ruined temple in the center and a hidden cave entrance nearby." Output: A forest map with dense trees, a crumbled temple, and a concealed cave entrance.
Benefits:
Speeds up map creation for DMs and creators.
Provides a starting point for more complex designs.
Appeals to users with limited design skills or time.
Dungeon Alchemist already has a wealth of user-generated maps in the Steam Workshop. These maps, along with their titles, descriptions, and tags, provide an excellent dataset for initializing an NLP system to map text descriptions to map layouts.
