New terrain brushes on preexisting maps

Can we get the option to update existing DAMs to take advantage of the new terrain brushes? I made a bunch of island maps before the sand brush existed. Reopened them to swap light dirt for actual sand, but was surprised to find that the brushes are unavailable.
