Outdoor Lighting Period Templates / Presets

Hi Dungeon Alchemist team!

First of all: congratulations. Dungeon Alchemist is by far the best map editor on the market. The speed, the results, the overall workflow… it’s honestly insane.

There’s just one thing that still bothers me: the outdoor lighting system tied to time-of-day.

Right now, the system is already quite complete in terms of controls: we can pick a time-of-day (currently limited to 4 fixed periods), choose a lighting color (via presets), adjust brightness, set the sun height, and rotate the sun position in the sky.
But none of these settings are saved across time/session/maps — so every time we open another map or come back later, we need to re-create the same lighting setup again from scratch.

Suggestion: “Time-of-day Lighting Templates”

It would be amazing if we could create / select / save custom templates for time-of-day lighting, for example:

  • Create our own time-of-day periods (not limited to the current 4)

  • Save custom color, sun position, sun height, and intensity

  • Reuse those templates across all maps

  • Make them available for batch export (so exported maps can automatically use the chosen time-of-day template)

  • Most importantly: these presets would be saved and instantly reusable in 1 click

This would turn the current lighting system from “powerful but manual” into something truly practical, consistent, and fast for real workflows—especially for people creating multiple maps for the same campaign.

Thanks again for your amazing work, and keep it up!
